"Remains" - an Exhibition of Prints for the Ted Hughes Festival
The Elmet Trust is a charitable company whose purpose is to promote and celebrate the life and works of Ted Hughes, Mytholmroyd’s famous son and late Poet Laureate. We have been asked to mount an exhibition to run during the Ted Hughes Festival, to be held in Mytholmroyd in October. The theme of this year's festival is "Remains", after the book "Remains of Elmet", an inspired volume with the evocative poems written in response to the moody photographs of the late Fay Godwin. A later edition of the book entitled simply "Elmet", with added poems and photographs, is still available. We hope to provide our own responses to the local area, its scenery and its character as a fitting part of the festival which will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the poet's death.
